Autopilot installs as a plugin in your editor, launches your game and plays it from a prompt: explore a level, look for anything broken, check that one mechanic works, or reach a goal, then it writes up a report. It keeps a memory of your project, so its makers say it plays better with each run and expect clumsy first attempts. The plugin is Apache 2.0 and free, but the playing is done by AI models, so you pay through an Aura plan, your own API keys, or your Claude or ChatGPT subscription via its Claude Code and Codex connection. It launched on October 30, 2026, so treat it as new. Whether your runs are shared to help improve it is a choice you make during setup.
